Our First Wedding: Sun, Sweat, and So Many Nerves !!!

Looking back on our very first wedding in London, Isaac and I were buzzing with nerves. We wanted to make a great impression and prove to ourselves that we could actually do this. It was mid-June on one of the hottest days of the year, but we were suited, booted, and ready to roll.
The Beginning
From the very beginning, Lydia and Jason were an absolute dream to work with. Not only a stunning couple, but genuinely some of the warmest and most welcoming people we could have hoped to meet.
We went into our first consultation feeling nervous, but by the end of it, we were chatting like old friends. They took the time to get to know us, our journey, and our vision. Instead of questioning why we were just starting out with wedding videography, they backed us completely. Their trust and support meant everything to us and they quickly became some of our biggest cheerleaders.
Plotting the Perfect London Wedding
As the wedding day approached, we met a few more times to go through the timeline and make sure everything aligned perfectly. Lydia and Jason already had a wedding photographer booked, so we were there to capture the day on film.
The plan was:
Bridal prep at Henry’s Town House
Ceremony at Marylebone Town Hall
Reception at The Harcourt Pub
A true London wedding from start to finish.
Sunshine, Smiles, and Wedding Morning Buzz
The day itself was just beautiful. Sunlight poured through the windows, smiles were everywhere, and there was that unmistakable buzz you only get on a wedding morning. It felt like more than just a wedding, it felt like a celebration of two people who truly radiate happiness. Being trusted to capture that is something we’ll never forget.
We arrived early at Henry’s Town House to set up and get straight to work, and that is where we met Kate, the photographer for the day. From the moment we met her, she was kind, supportive, and an absolute joy to work alongside.
Fun fact: we’ve actually worked together a few times since, and creatively we just click. She encouraged us to jump in, shadow her, and capture moments alongside her... Everything flowed so naturally. Isaac focused on video, I jumped in on photography, and together it all came together seamlessly.
Marylebone Magic: The Ceremony
As ceremony time approached, we packed up and headed over to Marylebone Town Hall, a venue that runs like clockwork. One couple in, one couple out. It’s like your very own wedding sushi conveyor belt !
Once everyone was settled and the registrar had introduced them, it was time for the vows and the exchanging of rings. Then came the moment everyone had been waiting for... the kiss...the cheers and just like that, Lydia and Jason were officially husband and wife!
Confetti, Red Buses, and Pure Joy
Next came the confetti shot, and we were ready. Confetti flying, sunshine blazing, smiles everywhere.
After that, we hopped on a classic red London bus and took a little tour while capturing some fun moments along the way. The vibes were electric, carefree, and full of joy, and the whole atmosphere just felt effortless and celebratory.
“It’s the people, the emotions, and all the little in-between moments that make each wedding completely unique.”
Looking back now, this was the moment we started to realise something about weddings. They almost run on autopilot, one moment rolling into the next bridal prep, ceremony, confetti, couple photos, celebrations, yet even with that rhythm, no two weddings are ever the same.
First Wedding Lessons & What We’d Do Differently
Before we knew it, cameras were packed away, hugs were exchanged, and goodbyes were said. Our very first wedding was a complete success. We left the day buzzing and headed straight into the editing room, so grateful to have been part of something so special.
Lydia and Jason, thank you for trusting us, believing in us, and giving us the opportunity to capture your wedding day.
Looking back now, we honestly don’t know why we were so nervous. The footage turned out beautifully, Lydia and Jason were genuinely happy, and the day exceeded every expectation we had.
Would we change anything? Honestly, nothing. If anything, we wish we had soaked it in even more and enjoyed it instead of letting the nerves take over. It was so much fun, and the perfect start to our wedding photography and videography adventure.
This wedding gave us that moment of realisation, that feeling of we can do this, and a day full of love, laughter, and memories we will carry with us forever.
