Welcome to Keeping It Reel, the official Reel Weddings blog.If you’ve found yourself here, you’re probably curious about who we are, how this all began, and what actually goes on behind the scenes of a wedding photography and videography business. So today, we have decided to open the door and let you in on the real story. The beautiful, the chaotic, the unexpected, and the wonderfully emotional journey we have been on.
This is Reel Weddings, unfiltered.

No Plan, Just A Passion (…and Pure Panic)
People always have advice, don’t they?
“Wait until you’re older.”
“Get some real experience first.”
“And whatever you do… don’t start a business with your partner.”
Partners In Crime?
Bonnie & Clyde !!!
It's a Pass… Sanity First 😅
You will be happy to know that we ignored all of that :)
I’d just finished university, staring down the barrel of a 9–to-5 and thinking, Absolutely not. I wanted to build something of my own, something exciting, something chaotic, something that didn’t involve fluorescent office lighting.
Isaac?
Total opposite.
He skipped college, jumped straight into professionally shooting music videos at the age of 17, and started collecting skills like Pokémon cards.
February 2023, ironically ... he took a bit of a detour and stumbled into working for a wedding videography business. One evening, after one of his wedding consultations, our conversation wandered from the normal small talk straight into a messy, passionate mid-ramble about dreams, frustrations, and why adulting felt like a scam. Which then led him to say the magic words….
“Babe... We could really do this wedding stuff ourselves.”
I remember peeking over the top of my iPad, laughing at first… and then i realised, that he wasn’t joking. At all.
My first reaction? honestly, was pure fear. The kind of fear where your stomach drops and your brain goes, “Absolutely NOT.”
I spent the next couple of weeks, having mini panic attacks disguised as conversations:
“Weddings? Me? No chance.”
“You’ve done loads! I’ve never shot anything this big.”
“I don't even know what the right settings are!”
But after all my dramatic attempts to talk myself out of it, I did what any panicking creative does, I opened Pinterest. Then Instagram. Then Google.
And suddenly… after a while ( a long while) it didn’t seem so terrifying.
I realised two things:
I love love.
I can actually take good photos.
And honestly? A bit of practice can fix everything else.
Then, for the first time, the idea didn’t sound completely insane. Suddenly, all those late nights of questioning life, all those random skills he’d collected like Pokémon cards, and my own restless creative energy seemed… useful.
And that was the moment. The spark. The beginning of Reel Weddings, created before we even bothered moving in together. Priorities, right?
Honestly, starting this business together felt a lot like what I imagine having a newborn must be like. It needed attention, money, reassurance, and lots of emotional support.
The Real Truth Behind Reel Weddings
Picture us: DMing brides at ungodly hours like over-caffeinated telemarketers:
“Hi! Love your wedding inspo board!”
“Congratulations!!!”
“Need a wedding photographer/videographer for your special day?”
…crickets.
Full radio silence.
We would refresh the app a good few times and still ... Nothing.
Cue existential crisis #432: Is this going to work? Are we delusional? Can we really shoot someones whole wedding?!... sigh !
And somehow, despite the doubts, the debates between myself and Isaac over colour palettes, the different shades of green and the endless arguments about business cards, it began to grow. Not in leaps and bounds, but in quiet, stagnated bursts: a response here, an Instagram like there… Tiny spark of “maybe we’re actually onto something.” Through the late nights, the blind faith, the questionable snacks, and the kind of teamwork forged in equal parts terror and exhilaration, we kept going. And slowly, beautifully, what once felt impossible began to feel inevitable
Growing Pains
Starting a business with your partner is not for the faint-hearted. Anyone who says otherwise is lying. There were days we didn’t know whether to laugh, cry, walk away (not just from the business) , or throw a laptop out the window (or at Isaac).
But there were also moments when everything clicked:
When we captured our first wedding
When we captured a first kiss from the perfect angle.
When a couple hugged us like old friends.
When we delivered a film that made someone’s entire family cry.
When we realised, this isn’t just a job.
This is our craft, our passion, and our shared purpose.
Working together forced us to grow up, communicate better, be patient, and rely on each other in ways we hadn’t before. It tested us, shaped us, and strengthened us.And today, we wouldn’t change a thing.
Show Me The Waze
Over the last couple of years, our cameras have taken us far beyond what we expected.
We’ve travelled to dozens of towns, villages, coastlines, forests, rooftops, barns, and hidden gems across the UK and beyond.
We’ve captured:
City weddings
Country house weddings
Barn weddings
Intimate ceremonies
Handfastings
Religious ceremonies
Traditional and cultural weddings
Civil ceremonies
Elopements
Second-day shoots
Engagement sessions
Every couple teaches us something new. Every wedding leaves a mark. Every location adds to our story.
One Wedding At A Time
Here’s the truth: our couples have shaped Reel Weddings more than anything else.
We’ve laughed with you.
Cried with you.
Run in the rain to get the perfect shot with you.
Changed timelines with you.
Helped sew dresses, fix veils, move tables, calm nerves, hold bouquets, and entertain dogs and toddlers while capturing photos of you.
We’ve witnessed love in its purest form, not the posed, perfect version, but the real version.
The version that looks like:
nervous hand squeezes
inside jokes
messy dance floors
teary grandparents
tiny moments no one else noticed
These moments are why we do what we do. They’ve shaped our brand, our style, and the heart behind every film and gallery we deliver.
“Keeping It Reel”
This blog is something we’ve wanted to launch for a long time, because we believe wedding photography and videography is more than just pretty pictures. It’s stories. It’s people. It’s the chaos, the calm, the joy, and the unexpected moments that make a wedding day yours.
Here, we’ll be sharing:
Behind-the-scenes stories
Our first weddings
Real wedding features
Tips and advice for couples
Our favourite travel moments
Honest conversations about running a business
Lessons we’ve learned (sometimes the hard way)
Reflections on love, work, partnership, and everything in between
We’ll be posting on the last Wednesday of every month, so stick around, because there’s plenty more to come.
With Gratitude !
If you’ve supported us, trusted us, booked us, shared our work, or even just followed our journey, thank you, Truly.
Reel Weddings wouldn’t exist without every single couple who shared their love with our lenses, every venue that welcomed us, every supplier who worked alongside us, and every friend or family member who believed in us when we were two determined 22-year-olds trying to build something from scratch.
We’re proud of how far we’ve come.
We’re excited for where we’re going.
And we’re grateful you’re here to experience it with us.
No filter, no edits, just RAW footage and reel moments ahead.
Welcome to Keeping It Reel x
